There has already been significant early action on a number of lines for Week 11 of the college football season. Sports Action examines some of the biggest moves.
Matchup to watch
There’s been a big tug of war in the Notre Dame-Miami opener. The Hurricanes opened as a 1.5 point home underdog before Irish money pushed the number to +4 for Miami. This is a must-win for Notre Dame’s title hopes, and a loss doesn’t affect Miami’s ultimate goal of winning the ACC/earning a berth in the College Football Playoff.
A stat to track? Miami’s red zone attempts were a theme against Virginia Tech. Miami is 102nd in red zone TD scoring percentage. That doesn’t bode well against an Irish team that ranks ninth in defensive red zone TD scoring percentage. Miami is an explosive play offense, but what they do past the 20-yard line will decide the game.
Other Week 11 notes
Pitt moved from 7.5 to 10-point favorites for their matchup with visiting North Carolina. Bettors were in early on the Panthers with bowl motivation. UNC, on the other hand, has only one win on the season.
Washington opened -5.5 and took money to -8.5 before Stanford money took it to -7. Bryce Love wasn’t healthy enough to bust more than one explosive play on Wazzu, and the Cardinal now hosts the Huskies, who have a top-15 defense.
All LSU money as the Tigers host Arkansas. LSU moved from -16.5 to -19 on an Alabama hangover hosting a Hogs team that needed a fourth quarter comeback to beat Coastal Carolina by one point… at the Razorbacks’ homecoming.
Wazzu opened +2 and took all the money to the current -1 at Utah. Washington State must win this game to stay in contention for the Pac-12 North.
Missouri moved from -7.5 to -10.5 against a second opponent that may have given up on the season, Tennessee. Missouri is hungry for a bowl game and to save head coach Barry Odom’s job.
Auburn opened -2 and in eight minutes moved to +2 against UGA at BetOnline. There’s heavy money on UGA in a spot that means everything to Auburn. Will Georgia give a full effort in a game that might not mean as much to their futures?
