After Game 6

The back-and-forth nature of this series continued as Jayson Tatum led the Celtics to a win on the road in Game 6, forcing a Game 7 back in Boston. Tatum caught fire from beyond the arc, where he finished 7-for-15 on his was to dropping a game-high 46 points. The Celtics’ superstar finished +21 over 43 minutes. The Celtics opened as five-point favorites to win Game 7 and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

After Game 5

The Bucks outscored the Celtics by 12 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback and steal Game 5 on the road. The Celtics were in control through three quarters, but were unable to put away the Bucks, who left with a 110-107 win and a 3-2 lead in the series. Milwaukee now has a chance to close out the series at home and has also overtaken Boston as the favorite to win the series.

After Game 4

The Bucks led for the majority of the first three quarters, but Al Horford and Jayson Tatum put up 30 points each as the Celtics scored 43 points in the fourth quarter to pull out a 116-108 road win. The Bucks moved from -150 to +160 to win the series while the Celtics’ odds to win the series moved from +130 to -190.

After Game 3

Giannis Antetokounmpo exploded for 42 points and the Bucks fought off a late run from the Celtics to win Game 3, 103-101. The Celtics were the favorites to win the series after Game 2, but the Bucks are now listed at -150 after Game 3. The Celtics are now +130 to win the series.

After Game 2

The Celtics answered back with a dominant 109-86 win in Game 2 over the Bucks. After the Bucks became short favorites to win the series at -125 entering Game 2, the Celtics are now favorites again at -135 while the Bucks are +115 to win the series.

After Game 1

The Milwaukee Bucks stole home-court advantage after a dominant win in the series opener. Oddmakers swiftly adjusted the lines for this series, moving the Celtics from -185 favorites (61.87% implied odds) to +105 underdogs (46.75% implied odds).

Boston Celtics

The Celtics were the only team so far in the NBA Playoffs to pull off a sweep with their drubbing of the Brooklyn Nets in Round 1.

Their biggest concern entering the playoffs was whether Robert Williams would be available for the playoffs and he returned to play two games in their first-round series.

Boston has an implied probability of 61.87% to win the series based on the odds, but the odds that this series extends to six or seven games are both listed at +190 odds respectively.

They’ve also shot up the title odds board going from +750 before Round 1 to +400 as of this writing.

Milwaukee Bucks

As dominant as the Celtics have been, the Bucks have the best Net Rating (+13.8) of any team in the playoffs. That number is driven largely by their Defensive Rating (94.4), which is nearly 10 points per 100 possessions lower than the next closest team.

The Bucks will face an uphill battle, though. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Khris Middleton has a Grade 2 sprain and is expected to miss the entire second round series — and potentially the Conference Finals if the Bucks were to advance.

The Bucks went from having the second-best odds to win the NBA title (+500) before the start of the playoffs to the fourth-best odds (+600) entering Round 2.
