As well as the usual betting markets on the title winners, top goalscorer and all the usual head-to-head prop bets, the other market that always appears once the season gets underway is the ‘First Manager to Leave’.
And just 48 hours into the new EPL season we’ve already seen one significant market mover, with Chelsea’s Antonio Conte installed by UK bookmakers Skybet as the new favorite to leave his post first.
The consensus favorite to go first was Stoke City’s Mark Hughes, but rumblings of discontent from Stamford Bridge, followed by Chelsea’s 3-2 home defeat to Burnley, have seen Skybet make a move to place the former Juventus boss at the top of the EPL’s managerial departure board.
Conte is now as short as 3/1 to go first with Skybet, but rival bookies Paddy Power (5/2) and BetVictor (3/1) still have Hughes as the man most likely. The other UK bookie offering odds on the market, Betway, has Hughes, Conte and Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez as co-favorites at 7/2 each.
